the 360 elite has better graphics it has an hdmi output that shows things in 1080p regular 360 only go to 720p the hdmi is only 1 wire that has everything both audio and video you don’t need 5 different wires inside the hdmi wire there’s 19 video wires instead of just 3 and 14 audio instead of 2, here’s a link to the web sight that shows the 2. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/catal...
You are right about the memory. The only other difference is the option to use HDMI outputs. IF you have HD and have HDMI inputs, then you MAY want to consider it. However, the 360 looks great using component cables on standard TV, so it’s really up to how much of an HD freak you are. About the memory…that’s an insane amount. The only reason to have that much is if you plan on downloading HD content (movies and TV) from Xbox Live. If you don’t plan on doing that, then the 20gb should be plenty.
